The title song, "ONE MORE TIME" is a sample of soulpunk master Rick James' "Give It to Me Baby," and features a red pop sound.

Upon its release, the song received rave reviews from fans for the impressive line distribution that highlighted the members' different vocal colors and tones yet their harmony turned out really well, trendy and sophisticated.

Fans lauded the song for emphasizing BB Girls' individuality more while still not shying away from its unique synergy and color as a group. BBee (fandom) also gave a thumbs up to their improved and upgraded concept and looks, contrary to their initial "retro" concept.

This time, the members flaunted more mature and seductive charms without decreasing the "refreshing" and "chilliness" feeling listeners can get from their songs through their voices and dance moves.

BB Girls Raised Brows For Repetitive Lines, 'Forced' Strategy to Make Song Addictive

Amid the positive comments and love poured by fans to BB Girls' new release, there are also listeners and internet users who aren't satisfied with their comeback.

In particular, a lot of music fans expected the same refreshing and cool summer sensibility of "Rollin," which made them reverse-driving popularity in 2020. However, this is not the case for some.

Web users are blaming this on the overly repetitive lyrics of the song that seemed like a "forced" strategy to make it addictive.

Listening to the song, there are as many as 25 repetitions of the line, "Give it to me baby." The same line would appear in each verse at least once and up to five times.

Although repetition of lines and making it the song's "hook" is common to gain more fans' engagement, people pointed out that it has nothing to do with the title and they cannot understand how the line is related to the message of the song.

Music fans then said:

  • "Let's change the title to 'Give it to me."
  • "Give it to me baby' seems to ruin the song."
  • "The melody and voice are good, but the lyrics are disappointing."
  • "It's beyond addiction."
  •  "It's too insincere."

While the reaction of regret and support coexists, the title song of the re-debut of BB Girls "ONE MORE TIME," is keeping up the box office fever by ranking 80th on the music platform Melon Hot 100 (a new song as of the 100th day of release).
