Significance of BLACKPINK Lisa's as 'Cultural Icon'

The "Asia Hall of Fame" was established in 2004 with the aim of promoting Asian and Aboriginal achievements and leadership not only in the United States but also in the world.

Throughout history, the youngest member of BLACKPINK became the first-ever K-pop artist to be recognized by the prestigious organization, Asian Hall of Fame, which means that her influence through music is culturally great as an Asian.

This also deserves more applause as the idol with Thai origin didn't only represent K-pop but her original roots as well.

Lisa will be honored as the "Cultural Icon" at a ceremony at the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles on Oct. 21 (local time).

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK, the group to which Lisa belongs, just celebrated their 7th anniversary on August 8. Amid the celebration, there is an increasing concern if all four members will renew their contract with their agency YG Entertainment.

This is drawing attention from related industries and fans around the world, watching the members' future moves.

In the meantime, the largest K-pop girl BLACKPINK is conducting their world tour, "BORN PINK - ENCORE IN NORTH AMERICA," which originally aims to attract about 1.5 million spectators.

Starting with New Jersey on August 11, the tour will continue to Las Vegas, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
