BIGHIT Music Stands Up for BTS Jungkook Amidst 'Seven' Plagiarism Allegations: ‘It's not true and one-sided…’

On August 22, Big Hit Music issued a comprehensive response to the claims, addressing them directly in a statement delivered to respected media outlet Star News.

The agency's unequivocal stance is clear:

"We would like to reveal that allegations claiming Jungkook’s 'Seven' was plagiarized are false. Seven was made through a collaboration of five international producers and has no relation to the song that is part of a domestic album from 24 years ago."

Big Hit Music did not stop there, underlining their position by affirming, "The allegations are one-sided, and the song does not meet any criteria that are used for judging plagiarism."

The controversy erupted when Yang Joon Young, a veteran first-generation K-Pop producer, made bold accusations that Jungkook's "Seven" bore striking similarities to Fin.K.L.'s "Time of Mask," a track he himself had produced.

The claims, casting doubt on the originality of Jungkook's work, swiftly garnered attention across the music industry and beyond.
