Fifth Generation Idol Exposes 'Outrageous' Demands, 'Unfair' Label Contract Terms — Fans Stunned

Yoo Jun-won, the standout contestant from the MBC audition program 'Boys Fantasy - After School Excitement Season 2', has declined to join the anticipated group 'Fantasy Boys'.

The feud between Yoo Jun-won and his agency has taken a dramatic turn, plunging into a heated confrontation over contract terms.

A Battle of Principles

The reason? A contract he claims is riddled with unreasonable clauses, a revelation that has left fans and industry insiders stunned.

Yoo Jun-won, who clinched the top spot in 'Boys Fantasy', was poised to join the 'Fantasy Boys' lineup. However, he's now made headlines by exposing the contract issued by Funky Studio, the production company behind the show.

Contrarily, Yoo Jun-won presented a different narrative. Taking to Instagram, he expressed his initial intention to reach an amicable agreement, which instead spiraled into a contentious battle.

He emphasized that the profit-sharing ratio had already been adjusted to a fair 5:5 split, and he had no qualms with this arrangement.

However, the sticking point emerged during negotiations to rectify unfavorable clauses and inequities within the contract. This experience eroded his trust in the company, ultimately solidifying his choice to forego signing.

To bolster his claims, Yoo Jun-won posted the contract put forth by Funky Studio. The terms of the contract shed light on the financial expectations placed on finalists like him.

Monthly obligations included fixed fees for various roles such as field management, PR management, content creation, and general planning. Perhaps most notably, the contract stipulated the sharing of costs for facilities, vehicles, and potential additional expenses.

The financial breakdown revealed that excluding vehicle-related expenses, the monthly commitment tallied up to an eye-watering $41573.

With projected car operation costs factored in, each member would be liable for a substantial 5 million won per month. Notably, the contract also hinted at the possibility of incurring supplementary costs for individual activities.

As this gripping contract clash continues to unfold, the once-promising journey of Yoo Jun-won takes an unforeseen turn, highlighting the complex power dynamics within the K-pop industry and casting a spotlight on the need for fair and transparent contract negotiations.
