NewJeans Becomes 1st K-pop Girl Group to Achieve 7-Week Domination on Billboard's World Albums Chart

NewJeans have found themselves in another amazing feat!

On September 19, local time, Billboard officially announced that NewJeans' newest and second mini album "Get Up" has spent its seventh non-consecutive week on its World Albums chart. The charting was recorded for the week ending on September 23.

With this entry, NewJeans became the first-ever K-pop girl group to land an album on top of the chart for seven weeks, marking a first in history. The girl group has also landed spots in other charts outside of World Albums.

According to Billboard, NewJeans' 2nd EP "Get Up" also entered its eighth consecutive week on Billboard 200's top 40, where it maintained its position at No. 36. This led NewJeans to become the first K-pop female act to chart an album for eight straight weeks on the top 40.

The album is making waves on Billboard, meaning, its songs have also set its places on the chart's newest lists.

On Billboard's Pop Airplay chart, NewJeans' viral single "Super Shy" managed to secure a new place at No. 37. This feat is impressive since the chart monitors the weekly mainstream radio plays across the United States, highlighting the group's consistent momentum.

On the Top Album Sales chart and Top Current Album Sales chart, the album also defended its place at the No. 6 spot, while also maintaining its reign at No. 18 on the Tastemaker Albums chart, all in its eighth week.

The Global Excl. U.S. chart also included several of the album's songs, as well as tracks from NewJeans' previous releases. "Super Shy" claimed No. 12, trailed by "ETA" at No. 36, "OMG" at No. 113," "Ditto" at No. 122, "Hype Boy" at No. 157," and "New Jeans" at No. 166.

Meanwhile, on Billboard's Global 200, NewJeans made entries with "Super Shy" securing No. 24, "ETA" at No. 64, and "OMG" at No. 186.

Furthermore, apart from their mini album, NewJeans also placed themselves on Billboard's Artist 100, where they claimed No. 37. The group has now followed BLACKPINK, TWICE, and FIFTY FIFTY as the newest K-pop girl group with the most cumulative weeks on the chart.
