NewJeans Makes History Anew — Becomes 1st Girl Group to Land 3 Songs on Billboard Hot 100 Altogether

NewJeans made another history! The 4th-gen sensation has stormed both of Billboard's Top 200 Albums and Hot 100 charts with their second mini album "Get Up."

NewJeans Becomes First Girl Group to Land 3 Songs in Hot 100 Simultaneously + 'Get Up' Debuts #1 on Billboard 200

NewJeans has once again proved their impact and power!

On August 2, local time, Billboard officially declared that NewJeans had claimed the No. 1 position on its Top 200 Albums chart with their second mini album "Get Up."

This album led the girls to have their first-ever placement on the Billboard 200, which ranks the most popular albums in the United States weekly.

NewJeans became the only second K-pop female act to dominate the Billboard 200, following sensational group BLACKPINK, and is also the fastest female artist to do so. To top it off, NewJeans' "Get Up" and BLACKPINK's "BORN PINK" (2022) are the only female group releases to claim Billboard 200's No. 1 spot.

Overall, including male K-pop acts, NewJeans became the sixth K-pop artist to achieve No. 1 on Billboard 200, trailing popular acts such as BTS, BLACKPINK, Stray Kids, TXT, and SuperM.

Data platform Luminate has also released their breakdown (dated July 27) on NewJeans' achievement.

According to their findings, "Get Up" managed to secure 101,500 traditional album sales, 24,500 streaming equivalent album (SEA) units, 34.39 million audio streams, and 500 track equivalent album (TEA) units, all on its first week. This led "Get Up" to achieve a total score of 126,500 equivalent album units.

NewJeans didn't just make their entry on the Billboard 200, but also on Hot 100 as well. In this chart, the rookie group debuted two songs from their "Get Up" album, consisting of "ETA," which claimed No. 81, and "Cool With You" at No. 93.

Furthermore, NewJeans also had one of their pre-releases reach new peaks on Hot 100, with "Super Shy" having grabbed the No. 48 spot on its third consecutive week and indicated the group's highest-ranking state on Hot 100.

With these entries, NewJeans became the first female K-pop artist to simultaneously enter three songs on Hot 100, marking a historic feat for the group and K-pop as a whole.
