The fanbases of VIVIZ, Yuju, and Somi have all voiced out their mixed reactions towards American and singer Lil Uzi Vert, for having met their idols.

Lil Uzi Vert has been long known as a Buddy, who is a fan of GFRIEND. The rapper has been vocal about their love for the now-disbanded group and is evident from the viral tweet they made in 2015.

The rapper's love for the group was also noticed by fellow Buddies, when they learned that GFRIEND had officially disbanded on May 2021.

With their highly anticipated performance at the "One Universe Festival 2023" on October 8, everyone has also been waiting for the rapper's interactions with several K-pop artists.

Luckily, Lil Uzi Vert finally met their favorite idols, which included former GFRIEND members SinB, Umji, and Eunha, who are now members of VIVIZ, alongside soloist Yuju. Apart from the former GFRIEND members, Lil Uzi Vert was also seen alongside Jeon Somi.

The interaction between Lil Uzi Vert and the former GFRIEND members immediately went viral across social media, with many saying how wholesome it was.

Despite the wholesome intent of their interaction, many were offed with their exchanges. Twitter users then began to voice out their discontent with Lil Uzi Vert meeting their idols.

Fans are normally excited when Western artists meet their favorite K-pop idols, especially when the latter are also avid fans. But in Lil Uzi Vert's situation, a sufficient portion of the online community were not happy with their interaction towards the idols due to past legal charges.

In July 2021, Lil Uzi Vert's ex-girlfriend Brittany Byrd filed charges against them after an altercation. Sources state that while Byrd was dining with rapper SAINt JHN at a restaurant, Lil Uzi Vert incited a fight against the other artist.

It then disclosed that Lil Uzi Vert reportedly punched Byrd and pointed a gun at her stomach when she approached the two rappers. At the time of the incident, it was alleged that Byrd was pregnant.

This led Lil Uzi Vert to be sentenced to three-year probation in February 2022. Their sentence is broken down to a year of treatment on mental health, substance abuse, accompanied by domestic violence counseling for a total of 52 weeks.

The sentence was pleaded after prosecutors charged Lil Uzi Vert with three felonies, firearm assault, criminal threats, domestic violence, and the carrying of a loaded weapon, which added a misdemeanor charge.
