Among 50 nominees, THIS rookie boy group who just debuted in 2023 shockingly beats BTS as the #1 K-pop artist for this year! Who are they?
Rookie HORI7ON Wins Against BTS As #1 K-pop Group in 2023 — Who Are They?
From October 17, Dabeme Pop, a popular Brazilian entertainment website held a survey among K-pop enthusiasts to select the top 50 best K-pop groups that shone best in the year 2023.
The result depends 100% on fans' pick and after a week of voting, the final top 50 was finally announced!
Based on the rankings, the rookie boy group HORI7ON secured its position by beating BTS, popularly known as the "biggest boy group in the world."

Throughout the competition, the septet maintained its position on top and while they somehow lagged on the final voting day, its fandom, Anchors, shocked ARMYs (BTS fans) and ENGENEs (ENHYPEN fandom) as the team redeemed its position from third place to #1.
When the result came, K-pop fans showed interest in the group as it is rare for a rookie group to beat BTS, let alone sit atop first place against the top-tier K-pop groups.
In particular, HORI7ON is the first all-Filipino K-pop group launched in Korea under MLD Entertainment, home to MOMOLAND, Lapillus and TFN (formerly T1419).

The team debuted through a joint Korean-Filipino audition program called "Dream Maker" aired via ABS-CBN in February.
After training in Korea following the Korean training system, the seven-member group was officially introduced through its first full-length album, "Friend-SHIP," with the title track, "SIX7EEN" (Sixteen) in July.
K-pop fans are praising the group as it was only three months since they debuted, but they are already showing their massive and continuously increasing fandom to beat BTS and ARMYs over voting.
Here Are the Top 50 K-pop Groups in 2023:
Following HORI7ON, boy groups from HYBE, BTS and ENHYPEN ranked second and third place, respectively. Rookies ZEROBASEONE and LAPILLUS then filled the remaining top 5 slots.
iKON then ranked sixth place, while its junior boy group, Stray Kids ranked seventh. Second-gen boy groups INFINITE and SHINee entered the rankings in 8th and 9th place. Lastly, SEVENTEEN completed the TOP 10.
