On social media platforms particularly X, the girl group (G)I-DLE became hot topic following their performance at the Jingle Ball 2023 in LA.

The K-pop girl group flaunted their powerful and charismatic aura as they performed their hit tracks.

However, amid praise, the group became embroiled in a plagiarism controversy after some raised accusations that (G)I-DLE copied BLACKPINK.

In particular, when the quintet's Jingle Ball stage circulated among K-pop fans, fans were quick to recognize the "uncanny" resemblance of their black outfits to BLACKPINK's costume during the Coachella 2023.

Both have warrior like concepts, and Yuqi's outfit was pointed out to be an exact copy of Lisa's outfit in different color and quality.

Not only this, but (G)I-DLE was said to copy BLACKPINK's viral intro as well, looking at the similar dance movements and lines.

At the time, the four-member group - Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa - introduced themselves first followed by Jennie's iconic line, "Let me hear you fxxking scream."

At the Jingle Ball, the quintet composed of Miyeon, Minnie, Yuqi, Soyeon and Shuhua also showcased same dance movements and personal introduction at the rhythm of drums.

Soyeon then shouted, "What's up Jingle Ball, that it's (G)I-DLE" with the same tone and pitch as Jennie, strengthening the assumptions.

Neverlands Defend (G)I-DLE from Accusations

When this was pointed by netters on X, BLINKs, BLACKPINK fandom agreed that the resemblance can't be denied, and lashed out at (G)I-DLE for almost copying 80% of BLACKPINK's iconic stage.

When Neverlands, (G)I-DLE fandom insisted that it could be a coincidence, BLINKs refuted that it is impossible not to know the quartet's intro and outfits since upon their stage, it dominated the entire SNS, media and online communities.

On the flip side, the quintet's fandom continued to defend the girl group, highlighting that the members' intro and dance movements isn't exclusive for BLACKPINK.

Accordingly, it wasn't that unique that they can be considered the first one to do it since past girl groups also used the same dance and intro lines.

In addition to this, Neverlands, expressed frustration due to the accusation and left X posts such as:
