SeolA's History with WJSN, Sub-Unit Ventures, Contract Renewal, More!

SeolA is the oldest member of WJSN, also known as Cosmic Girls.

In 2006, SeolA became a trainee under Starship Entertainment and received a training phase of ten years. Before her debut with WJSN, SeolA experienced a taste of what it's like in the K-pop industry by appearing in music videos for other artists.

In her pre-debut days, she also went by the stage names Junmi and SeolHa, before transitioning into the famous SeolA. On December 21, 2015, SeolA was revealed to be a fixed member of WJSN's final lineup, who debuted on February 25, 2016.

The group was successful in their debut and has garnered a solid core fanbase. WJSN is also well-loved for their hits such as "I Wish," "Secret" "MoMoMo," "Catch Me," "Save Me, Save You," "Boogie Up," "Dreams Come True," "Unnatural," "Last Sequence," and many more.

SeolA's impact didn't stop with the overall group, but she also managed to join a special project group WJMK which was created by Starship and Fantagio on June 1, 2018.

On May 12, 2021, SeolA debuted in WJSN's second sub-unit WJSN THE BLACK, along with bandmates Bona, Exy, and Eunseo. The quartet released their first single album "My attitude" and its title track "Easy," which received buzz for its stylish concept and slick music.

On March 3, Starship Entertainment updated fans regarding WJSN's exclusive contract renewals. According to their announcement, eight WJSN members including SeolA have renewed their contracts.

The other seven members who renewed were Exy, Bona, Soobin, Eunseo, Yeoreum, Dayoung, and Yeonjung. Meanwhile, Luda and Dawon decided not to renew.

Regarding the three Chinese members of WJSN, namely Cheng Xiao, Xuan Yi, and Mei Qi, their contracts have also ended, leading to their departure.

On December 4, Starship Entertainment officially confirmed that SeolA would be making her solo debut in January 2024.

The agency also asked for UJUNGs' anticipation of SeolA's solo career. Notably, SeolA is also the first member of WJSN to debut solo officially.

"WJSN member SeolA will debut as a soloist in January. We kindly ask you to give your unwavering support to SeolA, who will be starting the year 2024 with her solo debut."

With her talent for singing, dancing, and variety, alongside her magnetic charisma on stage, SeolA's upcoming debut is one to look forward to!
