The two BTS members have updated fans regarding their current status ahead of their upcoming military enlistment.

On December 11, V, who will be enlisting in the military, has shown his buzz cut to ARMYs. The photos were uploaded on his Instagram Stories, which fans have caught wind of on social media and Korean online communities. See the photos below:

The images initiated an online forum, where netizens gathered to express their shock over V's new haircut. Some were saddened by his enlistment, while others complimented his visuals despite the drastic style change. Read their comments here:

ARMYs in Tears as RM Says Goodbye in Heartfelt Letter Ahead of Enlistment

On the same day (December 10), leader RM posted a letter on Weverse and his Instagram Stories, where he expressed his goodbyes.

"Hello to everyone I hold dear.

The day has finally come. It seems there are a lot of things in my head that I want to say right now, but I can't find the right words for it.

For the past 10 years, I have been so happy being able to live my life as a BTS member. I've said this before, but an end is also a new beginning. After this passes, I have good faith that new good things will undoubtedly be waiting for us at the end.

Seokjin hyung and Hoseok were the first ones to endure this phase and it must have been a much harder time for them. While it may be late, seeing them doing a great job in the military only encourages me.

During this period of 18 months, I believe that it will offer us something new, unfamiliar, and inspiring. It's scary, but during that vague time, what else could be more comforting to know that there is something to look forward to? Apart from my work, it is mostly made of your love.

I can always be remembered by someone constantly. Even if there will be times when I feel lonely, I think that kind of love will make up for it. I hope I can be that kind of person to you too.

Rather than the countless words that linger in our ears before I leave, our time, love, and sincerity will tell us about our future together. Even if I'm not there by your side, I want to become someone who'll always be.

After living our lives in our places, I hope we'll put on a wide smile when I return, and will be full of our feelings. Goodbye for a while! I'll say hello again to everyone when I come back.

Anytime, anywhere, let's be ourselves! See you in the future. I love you so much, and I hope to reach you even a little bit.
