On December 14, the highly anticipated 2023 Asia Artist Awards was finally held at the Philippine Arena, in Bulacan, Philippines.

The event also made history, as this marked the first time the Asia Artist Awards, one of the largest award-giving bodies, was held in the country. Among the long-list of star-studded attendees comprised of singers and celebrities, fourth-gen Stray Kids also graced the occasion.

The 2023 Asia Artist Awards was full of energetic performances, noteworthy instances, and most of all, chaotic moments! It's a given aspect that during awards shows, the reactions of both idols and fans are always going to be captured on camera.

In the case of Stray Kids leader Bang Chan, his wholesome reaction towards Filipina actress-comedienne Melai Cantiveros' acceptance speech was caught by loving fans!

On social media platform TikTok, user @smhwng uploaded a video featuring Cantiveros giving her arbitrary but naturally funny acceptance speech after receiving the AAA Best Actor Award.

This was paired with the second panel showing Bang Chan, who was visibly losing it due to Cantiveros' humorous dialogue, which also resonated with the Filipino fans in the venue.

"If someone questions why I won (an) award, don't worry, I question (it) too," Cantiveros stated. "I just receive an award all my life from my father and mother when they are angry at me."

Cantiveros then expressed her gratitude to everyone who supported her. The actress showed her humble personality by hilariously questioning why she was chosen for the award among the long list of actors and actresses.

"But tonight, my heart is very kwan (Tagalog term for filler word). I think it's because God moves in mysterious ways," Cantiveros continued.

"PULP Studio, my PULP Live World Studio family, what the food that they eat, why they choose me?" which contextually translates to "What kind of stuff did they eat that led them to choose me (for this award)?" in the Filipino way.

Seeing Bang Chan's reaction, some even were both bewildered and amazed at how the comical Filipino humor also resonated with the idol!
