On December 19, KOZ Entertainment released an official statement addressing the security incident. The agency began by apologizing for the controversial occurrence and the security team's inappropriate behavior.

KOZ Entertainment revealed the agency has checked in on everyone who was affected regarding their mental health, physical condition, and belongings.

It also shared that measures were taken to prevent the personnel from being assigned to BOYNEXTDOOR's sites in future schedules and ensured the improvement of security training among its staff. Read the full statement below:

"Hello. This is KOZ Entertainment.

We are sending our sincerest apologies to fans for the inappropriate behavior of the bodyguard who was working for BOYNEXTDOOR's security procedures at Qingdao Airport on the 16th of December.

We have also apologized separately to those who were directly affected by the incident. Regarding aftercare, we asked them about their mental and physical health, as well as inquired whether there were any abnormalities in their belongings.

We have taken measures to make sure that the security personnel will not be dispatched to our artists' sites in the future. To prevent similar incidents from happening again, we will do our best to improve our security training for our personnel.

Once again, we apologize to the fans.

Thank you."

However, the statement of KOZ Entertainment received negative reactions from netizens since the company had addressed the incident only after it went viral. They also suggested the company should hire someone better to avoid any further scuffles.

  • "Then why can't say that it's assault was what he did?"
  • "This is indeed problematic. Why are fans always being treated this way?"
  • "They should've hired someone better. What if the fan suffered major injuries? They're going to pay a lot of money for that."
  • "You guys only reacted to the incident after it went to the news."
  • "Fans were ignored by this company when they had complaints. But they're also the same company who apologized for this incident once it made on the news."
