Daehyun's History with BAP, Solo Ventures, Departure from Agency
Jung Daehyun debuted with B.A.P on January 6, 2012, under TS Entertainment.
B.A.P, which stands for "Best Absolute Perfect" became one of the most prominent boy groups in the early third generation of K-pop and is known for their hits such as "ONE SHOT," "Feel So Good," "WAKE ME UP," "POWER," "Young, Wild & Free," and many more.
However, in February 2019, B.A.P officially disbanded. Prior to this unfortunate incident, B.A.P collectively filed a lawsuit against TS Entertainment for poor working conditions, as well as unfair distribution of profits.
This led the B.A.P members to go their separate ways, including Daehyun. The idol became a soloist on April 5, 2019, when he released his first mini album "Chapter2 '27" and its title track "You're My."
In June 2019, Daehyun signed an exclusive contract with Lionheart Entertainment (formerly STX Lion Heart). The agency stated:
"An exclusive contract with Jung Daehyun has been signed, as he's about to showcase his talent and potential as an artist. In order for him to flourish, we will fully provide support for his music endeavors."
Eventually, on December 5, Daehyun's contract with Lionheart Entertainment expired, which led the K-pop community to ponder his next move as a singer.
Where is Daehyun Now? Here's What He's Up to Nowadays After Leaving Lionheart
Daehyun has kept fans waiting for updates, but on December 29, the idol surprised everyone by signing an exclusive contract with MA Entertainment and joining his former bandmate Moon Jong Up as one of the agency's artists.
Earlier on May 22, Moon Jong Up joined MA Entertainment. This was followed by Daehyun, who had the intention of starting fresh again. Moreover, the idol also shared a personal message expressing his enthusiasm in working with MA Entertainment.
The idol stated:
"There has been a long hiatus since I was discharged from the military. So with that in mind, I plan to work hard and greet everyone again with better things.
It feels good to be in the same agency as Moon Jong Up, and I kindly ask you to support my future endeavors with MA Entertainment. I am also grateful to everyone who patiently waited for me, as I'll return as the Jung Daehyun who can repay you."
Furthermore, MA Entertainment also shared a brief statement, which welcomed Daehyun to its management, and assured that the idol would receive all necessary support for his activities.
"Jung Daehyun is someone with irreplaceable charm and passion for music, and for him to grow as an artist, we will fully support him so he can unleash his infinite potential and showcase his capabilities in various fields. Thank you for your interest and support.
