Ex-SF9 Rowoon Criticized for 'Robot-like' Hosting: 'The kid who left his group to act...'
After hosting year-end ceremonies, Rowoon became a hot topic as netizens criticized him for his "robot-like" MCing.

On December 31, the 2023 KBS Drama Awards took place at the KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul. The ceremony was led by announcer Jang Sung Kyu, along with idol-turned-actor Rowoon and actress Seol In Ah.
While the event was supposed to celebrate top actors and actresses who shone best last year, viewers were left disappointed due to the hosting skills of the former idol, said to "kill the joy" of the awards ceremony.
Rowoon Criticized for Hosting Skills
Following the KBS Drama Awards, Rowoon rose as a hot topic in the online forum Nate Pann, calling him out for his "soulless" MCing.
Being a large year-end program, the three MCs appeared to be nervous due to pressure. Rowoon particularly drew laughter when even Jang Sung Kyu commented, "Please give me your soul," when he reacted, "I'm really curious," in a robot-like manner.
The idol-actor also raised brows for his lackluster performance, wherein he only read from the teleprompter rather than building a connection with his co-hosts and viewers.

This is not the first time he was criticized for his "expressionless" and "awkward" hosting, as during the KBS Music Bank Global Festival held on December 15, he was also pointed out for lacking engagement with his co-MCs Go Minsi, IVE Jang Wonyoung, and Lee Young Ji.

In the online community, Rowoon received harsh words from internet users, expressing that being nervous wasn't an excuse to not do well, especially when it was the second time happening.
People also brought back Rowoon's speech during the KBS Drama Awards where he mentioned that "he doesn't know what he's good at," wherein people criticized him for "remaining mediocre" and "not trying to create the best version of himself."
In addition to this, some fans brought back how he even left his original job as SF9 member to become an actor, only to reveal his lack of passion and perseverance.
- "MC Rowoon doesn't seem to be able to do anything in the future. His hosting skills are very disappointing. The top excellence awards should've gone to Jang Dong Yoon."
