BTS Jungkook's 'GOLDEN' Becomes Longest-Charting K-pop Solo Album in Billboard 200

BTS Jungkook Makes Billboard History with 'GOLDEN' as Longest-Charting Release in Top 200 Albums

The record has been broken by BTS's youngest member!

On January 9, Billboard officially revealed the newest rankings for its Top 200 Albums. According to the data collected, Jungkook's first-ever studio album "GOLDEN" placed on the No. 28 spot, marking its ninth consecutive week on the chart.

With this achievement, "GOLDEN" became the longest-charting K-pop album on the chart among Korean soloists. This also makes Jungkook the first Korean solo artist to achieve the feat, surpassing his bandmate V, who maintained eight straight weeks in 2023 with "Layover."

Outside of Billboard 200, the maknae managed to continue his reign over Billboard's Artist 100, by climbing all the way up to No. 20. This achievement also led Jungkook to become the longest-charting star in the Artist 100.

On Billboard's Top Current Album Sales, "GOLDEN" also entered its way up to No. 9, and has also made way for No. 11 on the chart's Top Album Sales.

The album wasn't the only one that gained the spotlight in Billboard's updated rankings since its well-loved title track "Standing Next to You" ascended in Hot 100's No. 70. This was also followed by its placement on the Digital Song Sales chart, where it claimed No. 3.

Other songs such as Jungkook's solo debut single "Seven" (feat. Latto) landed at the No. 4 spot on the Global Excl. U.S. chart, alongside "Standing Next to You" in No. 7, and "3D" (feat. Jack Harlow) in No. 31.

Meanwhile, on the Global 200, No. 9 was secured by "Seven," while "Standing Next to You" claimed No. 11, and "3D' with No. 42.

Furthermore, Jungkook also gained traction in Billboard's Pop Airplay Chart, where the soloist landed places in its Top 40. Billboard revealed that Jungkook's collaboration song "Too Much" with The Kid LAROI and Central Cee defended its place on No. 20.

This was trailed closely by "3D" on No. 23, while "Standing Next to You" secured No. 34. Billboard's Pop Airplay chart gathers data from Top 40 radio stations across the United States and determines its weekly plays on the mainstream scene.
