Red Velvet Joy sparked discussion online after her photos allegedly showed a drastic change in her eyes. Did she have double eyelid surgery?

On January 17, the idol took time to greet and meet her fans, ReVeluvs, as well as the journalists on her way to the filming of SBS's "Animal Farm."

Before entering the SBS Mok-dong building in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul to fulfill her job as one of the program's hosts, Joy posed for fans and K-media in her winter out.

Using an umbrella, the idol exuded a drama-like scene as she waved and smiled to fans, giving them a slow-mo moment and butterflies in their tummies.

Red Velvet Joy Double Eyelid Surgery? Singer Speculated to Have Gone Under the Knife

While the "Happiness" singer served with her visuals, she made fans and netizens tilt their heads after noticing that her eyelids look different.

In K-pop, Joy is known for having beautiful uneven eyes, whereas her right eye has a less noticeable eyelid crease/curve.

But in her recent photos, she suddenly had even double eyelids and higher eyelid crease than normal.

When an internet user noticed this, Joy's photos were immediately shared on the online platform, Nate Pann, and there they speculated she got a cosmetic procedure.

As of the writing, the post amassed about 200k views and 307 recommendations, agreeing that Joy's eyelids changed.

In the comments section, some also criticized Joy for altering her beautiful eyes.

ReVeluvs Defend Joy, Claim Idol Used Double-Eyelid Tape

As the post garnered more malicious comments, ReVeluvs defended Red Velvet Joy, claiming that the higher crease was because of the use of a double-eyelid tape.

In her videos, the tape was visible when she was smiling and laughing, but it could be misunderstood if people would only look at her photos since it's not that obvious.

Fans also criticized those who raised suspicions of Joy getting double-eyelid surgery, since the idol filmed the show every week and there's no way she will heal immediately, even considering she had a break for a few days.
