With the circulating rumor that ITZY Yuna uses hip pads to achieve her iconic hourglass figure, the idol finally addressed the matter.

On January 31, ITZY just dropped their new album, "BORN TO BE." As part of promotions, member Yuna joined the recent broadcast of MBC's "Radio Star."

On this day, she drew attention as she finally addressed her hip pads controversy, which became an issue after her legendary cover of Lee Hyori's "U-Go-Girl."

During the broadcast, she was asked about a legendary stage that became even more famous than ITZY's.

As a response, Yuna mentioned her cover of former Fin. K.L's Lee Hyori's "U-Go-Girl," which she had performed for 2022's KBS Gayo Daechukje (Song Festival).

When she performed this song, it became a hot topic for her on-point cover showing off her singing and dancing skills; but most of all, she became the center of attention for her top-tier physiques and visuals.

As of writing, her performance uploaded on KBS's official YouTube channel amassed 5.7 million views. Recently, she also got approval from Lee Hyori, the original singer.

The MCs praised her:

"Yes, that outfit suits you reall well."

Claiming that she's a fan, Yuna explained:

"I really listen to Lee Hyori-sunbaenim's songs, so I wanted to express that Y2K vibe with that outfit as well."

Despite the popularity, Yuna sparked an issue among K-netz, doubting if her perfect hourglass figure was due to her styling combined with hip pads to enhance her waist and hip size.

Hearing this, Yuna finally addressed this and confidently replied:

"Oh, well yeah, a lot of people talked about that. (They would ask), 'Did you put in the in (hip pads)? but I think it would be good if you could watch the "U-Go-Girl" video."

ITZY Yuna's Remark Sparks Debate If She's Really Using Hip Pads

Following the broadcast, Yuna continued to garner doubts about her body and accused her of using hip pads, implying that those kinds of hips & thin waist were "unrealistic."

Netizens were concerned that younger fans of Yuna would attempt dangerous workouts and diets to achieve a body like hers as well.

• "But Yuna's hips seriously look unrealistic. No matter how much I wonder about it, it just makes no sense. Those kinds of hips only appear in webtoons."
• "Did she have hip fillers?"
• "Can't she just say 'I use hip pads' sometimes? It's so obvious when she's wearing a non-low-rise pants."

On the flip side, MIDZY (ITZY fans) cheered on Yuna and defended her from negative comments, saying:

• "I feel sorry for her. Why does she have to explain her hips in public?"
• "Some people really think that if they can't have something, others shouldn't have it either."
• "But Yuna's hips are real, though."
• "Why are people so mean? Why can't they just accept that people have different body types?"
