Kim Garam to Make First Public Appearance in Graduation

In May 2022, Kim Garam debuted as a member of the sextet, hereinafter quintet LE SSERAFIM, a HYBE x Source Music girl group.

Unfortunately, she was kicked out of the team just two months after her debut due to allegations of school violence.

Kim Garam then decided to go back to school and barely showed her face in public. Her last official statement was when she denied all of the accusations about her, and moving forward, all of her updates came from her close friends, classmates, and fans who spotted her at her school.

But about two years after her hiatus, the Korean media outlet Sports Trend on February 6 reported that the K-pop idol will finally make her first official public appearance.

On February 7 at 11 a.m. KST, Kim Garam is expected to attend the graduation ceremony of the School of Performing Arts School and will finally face the reporters.

This will be the first time that fans and the K-pop scene will be able to have a look at the recent status of the idol after not having her official photos since 2022.

Kim Garam's Plans After Graduation — Will She Re-Debut as K-pop Idol?

Currently, Kim Garam is a student enrolled in the Department of Theater and Film at SOPA, and there is a high anticipation that she will pursue her career as an idol, just like other idols who were embroiled in controversies who were able to go back in the K-pop scene.

However, there are claims that the star will instead pursue acting and debut as an actress after passing the university entrance exam at Konkuk University under the Department of Media and Acting. She is expected to enter this academic year 2024.

For those who don't know Kim Garam, she initially drew attention after being introduced as a member of LE SSERAFIM.

While she garnered a decent number of supporters issue to her visuals, her bullying issue erupted in April 2022 and since then, her life in middle school was re-examined.

Since it happened prior to their debut, HYBE denied the allegations and took measures such as filing a complaint against the accuser. But another bullying issue followed and the said victim also appointed a legal representative, leading to an official dispute.

Although the company proceeded with Garam's debut, the idol was often excluded from LE SSERAFIM's activities. But as there were continuous restrictions on her activities, Source Music and HYBE announced the termination of her exclusive contract and her withdrawal from the group in July 2022.

Later, in August of that year, Kim Garam released a statement denying his alleged school violence and provided documents from the school violence committee. The case hasn't progressed much since then.

While LE SSERAFIM enjoyed massive fame since she left, Kim Garam remained away from the limelight and continued her studies instead.
