In the latest interview, Daesung expressed affection for his co-BIGBANG G-Dragon & Taeyang. However, he raised brows for not mentioning T.O.P and Seungri who were originally members of the group as well.

On February 16, the K-pop idol appeared as a guest on TV CHOSUN's "Huh Young Man's Food Travel" and went on a table outing to the mountains of Namdo and Hwasun, Jeollanam-do.

On this day, Daesung gave an update about his recent status and while on the topic, he also mentioned BIGBANG, the group to which he debuted. However, his remark disappointed VIPs when he failed to mention T.O.P and Seungri, who were also originally his co-members as well.

BIGBANG Daesung Expresses Gratitude to G-Dragon & Taeyang

In particular, while talking, Huh Young Man showed curiosity about his occupation as an idol and asked if he is a member of the K-pop icon, BIGBANG.

Daesung proudly confirmed it and showed off a medley of their songs, causing laughter. When he mentioned his transition to trot, he carefully mentioned G-Dragon & Taeyang as his biggest support system, saying:

"I don't think I've ever talked about this before, but while promoting with BIGBANG, I've benefited greatly from my older brother's (GD and Taeyang) ideas and virtues that helped me to become a 'cool' person on stage.

He continued to express his thanks to his BIGBANG co-members (GD & Taeyang) and VIPs for supporting him when doing trot, adding:

"I have established myself well as BIGBANG that's why I have no shame or hesitation in making more meaningful and fun music that I want to bring joy to many people."

He also emphasized how it helped him to do his military service at the same time as his co-members.

Daesung Raised Brows for Not Mentioning TOP, Seungri

Following the broadcast, VIPs, and the fandom of the K-pop act showed mixed reactions following Daesung's remark.

In particular, BIGBANG originally debuted as five members and they have been together for about 2 decades. Thus, fans pointed out that he shouldn't take away the credits from the other two (Seungri and T.O.P) and only mention how GD and Taeyang influenced him during their group's active promotion.

Some fans were frustrated why he didn't mention Seungri when he was a member which used to be the reason he didn't leave the music industry before. Fans stated that regardless of his past controversy, Seungri still played a significant role that made BIGBANG the group that they are now.

Some fans were also frustrated with the lack of mention of T.O.P, whose status in BIGBANG is still unclear. While there is no official announcement from YG that he left the group, T.O.P himself confirmed that he's not a part of the group anymore, leaving fans in confusion.

On the other hand, VIPs defended Daesung and claimed that he probably can't mention the two members and that he's only being careful to avoid a bigger backlash. In fact, even the show blurred out T.O.P, causing viewers sadness.
