Red Velvet's Lightstick Has Luvies Frustrated for THIS Reason: 'We've been complaining for years'

ReVeluvs discussed a long-known "defect" in Red Velvet's lightstick "Mandu Bong" in an online community.

Here's what happened.

Red Velvet's Lightstick Draws Frustration Among Luvies for 'Lacking' Glow Power

On February 20, a forum, titled, "Is Red Velvet's cheering stick's luminous power for real?" was flocked by Korean netizens and ReVeluvs.

In the thread, the author uploaded a photo showcasing Red Velvet in one of their concerts. The image implied that it was taken after the encore since it's only a mandatory move to have group photos for remembrance.

However, OP specified the audience's and Red Velvet's lightsticks, which according to many, were lacking power. "For reference, all the fans have their lightsticks on," the author shared.

Fans in the comments section expressed their shock at the claim, saying that the "light ocean" was barely visible to the eye. Some alleged that the Red Velvet members claimed that the lightsticks won't be renewed.

Read their comments below:

  • "I can't even see the light."
  • "Is it because the official color isn't a primary color?"
  • "The lightsticks are on? Wow."
  • "This is why they never got renewed."
  • "Even the members talked about it, they won't be renewing them."
  • "What? They're really open?"
  • "No, but this is indeed bad."

On a different platform, international fans shared that the ReVeluv community, alongside Red Velvet, has complained about this defect for years. They also stated how its weak lighting was because of its plain white light relying on its RV logo to shine a color.

They also drew out past tweets that showed complaints about the Mandu Bong's faint lighting and compared it to other Red Velvet fanlight merchandise. Others pointed out that while the Mandu Bong's dimness was noticeable, the photo uploaded was underexposed or flashy.

"Fans have been complaining about how pathetically dim the Mandu Bong is for years now. Even the members themselves have mentioned it's weak.

Unlike every other SM lightstick that lights up in its color, RV's lightstick light is white and only relies on the lightly colored RV logo to have any color. It's awful but at least, their Japanese lightsticks are cute and brightly colorful."

  • "We've been complaining for years."
  • "It just kinda looks like they took a picture of a crowd who got their phones up in the air."
  • "The lights on the fan signs are much stronger when they are usually on the same level of brightness as the lightsticks."
  • "The lightstick isn't the brightest. But this photo is underexposed/too bright a flash on the camera or both."
