On February 20, a post on Instiz triggered a discussion among the aforementioned two fandoms when the OP wrote an article, titled, "Are Karina's glasses a trend right now?"

In the caption, the uploader added:

"Rimless glasses? Is this a new trend?"

In the photos attached, Karina was seen at the airport wearing classic rimless glasses, and her beauty stood out with her doll-like facial features with a small head.

Upon seeing the post, K-netizens left rave reviews and as the OP suggested, some agreed that the "It Girl" is going to send the K-pop scene into a frenzy again with a new trend.

They left comments such as:

• "Wow, Karina is so pretty. She reminds me of the Japanese cartoons."
• "The trend is really coming back."
• "Wow, it really suits Karina."
• "It really sucks because it doesn't suit me, but I want to buy the same glasses because of Karina."
• "I like this trend."
• "But Karina is really pretty she looks like a virtual character."

Bunnies Claim NewJeans Hyein Started Rimless Glasses Trend

While there are K-netizens who are pointing out Karina will truly bring back this rimless glasses trend following her recent visuals, Bunnies, the fandom of NewJeans disapproved of this and implied that Hyein already set and became the "blueprint" of this fashion trend.

In particular, while rimless glasses have been a popular item since then and are usually used for geek chic fashion style, it was last year when NewJeans Hyein incorporated this item into the Y2K style.

At the time, she was praised for her looks which exuded her intelligent and calm nature.

On the other hand, NewJeans Hyein and aespa Karina are continuing their fourth-gen leaders status amid the debate with their respective activities.

Starting with, NewJeans Hyein, she is establishing her status as a vocalist idol by participating in IU's 6th mini-album, "The Winning" as a featured artist in the song, "Ssh."

Upon its release on February 20, she was lauded for her heavenly vocals that are truly top-notch among fourth-gen idols.

In the meantime, aespa Karina is also continuously cementing her position as a top-tier visual idol and 4th-gen "It Girl."

On February 21 and 22, aespa, the group to which Karina belongs will join “SMTOWN Live 2024 SMCU Palace @Tokyo" to be held at Tokyo Dome.
