On February 27, 2024, a post titled "Renjun has been severely gaining weight lately" was posted to a popular South Korean online community forum.

In the post, the original poster (OP) shared two photos of Renjun. One is from October 2020 and shows Renjun posing in front of the pink wall at "Music Core." In his photo, Renjun is seen wearing a sweater and smiling at the camera as he throws up a peace sign.

The other photo is more recent and is from January 2024. The idol is seen posing on the red carpet of the Circle Chart Music Awards. In this photo, he is seen wearing a suit with a fancy jacket over it.

In the 2024 photo, Renjun's face is visibly puffier, and his smile lines are more noticeable. This makes it appear as if the idol has gained a substantial amount of weight through the years.

How Did K-Netizens React to NCT Dream Renjun's Weight Gain?

After the post was made, Korean internet users took to the comment section to share their opinions.

While many do agree that he gained some weight, it was noted that journalist photos are notorious for making idols look worse than they actually are. In recent live streams and photos, Renjun actually resembles how he looks in 2020 more than he does in the "after" photo of OP's post.

Others commented that he will likely start dieting again once NCT Dream prepares for a comeback, so it is no big deal that he is gaining weight now.

Many also noted that in the past, people thought Renjun looked "too skinny." Therefore, some people thought it was actually a good thing he was gaining weight.
