K-Netz Shocked to Find THIS 'Pyramid Game' Actress Is a K-Pop Idol

On March 7, 2024, a post titled "Wow... Did everybody know that this actress was an idol?" was posted to a popular South Korean online community forum.

The original poster (OP) shared several GIFs of actress Kim Ji Yeon on their post. Currently, Kim Ji Yeon plays the role of main character Seong Su Ji in "Pyramid Game."

Seong Su Ji is a new student who joins Class 2-5 at Baekyeon Girls' High School. Known for her adept social skills and direct demeanor, she soon finds herself embroiled in a pyramid scheme and becomes a target of school bullying. However, she refuses to succumb to the abuse and instead sparks a rebellion against the injustice.

In the drama, she looks cold and calculating. Because of that, they were shocked to discover Kim Ji Yeon is actually a long-time K-pop idol!

Who is Kim Ji Yeon?

In fact, Kim Ji Yeon is a member of WJSN. She goes under the stage name Bona, and is the center of the group.

At this revelations, Korean netizens expressed their shock. They revealed they first learned of Bona through the K-drama "Twenty-Five Twenty-One," where she played fencer Go Yu Rim. Due to her acting skills, they assumed she was an up-and-coming actress.

Some stated they had heard of WJSN and Bona, but did not realize that Bona was actually the one in the dramas. People commented that whenever she promoted as Bona, she looked warm and bright, but as her roles tend to lean on the serious side, she sheds her idol image when she acts.
