EXO Baekhyun raised the excitement of both K-pop and sports fans as he confirmed to sing at the opening MLB World Tour Seoul Series 2024!

On March 12, his agency INB100 released its official position regarding the CEO and artist's participation in the opening game of the regular season of the 2024 U.S. Major League Baseball, which will be held in South Korea for the first time.

EXO Baekhyun to Sing Both Korean & US National Anthems With Lena Park

On March 11, Korean news outlets reported that EXO Baekhyun will be one of the singers to carry on the official event of singing the Korean and American national anthems which are performed at the start of the game. He will stand on the stage along with Park Jung Hyun, also known as Lena Park, an American-Korean singer nicknamed the "national fairy."

The reports further stated that both were carefully chosen by the secretariat, considering their status and significance that will reflect on the Major League Opening Game.

On this day then, EXO's agency, INB100 released its position, saying:

"Baekhyun will participate in the 'MLB World Tour Seoul Series 2024', the opening game of the regular season of the 2024 U.S. Major League Baseball, which will be held for the first time in Korea.

Baekhyun will sing the national anthem and the U.S. national anthem without accompaniment at the game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Padres at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on March 21st."

It is anticipated that he will showcase his unrivaled power and his performance is also expected to heighten the festive energy in a game that baseball fans around the world are paying attention to.

In November last year, Baek also performed at the opening ceremony of the 2023 LoL World Championship final and his global moves that encompassed both music and sports were lauded by K-pop and sports fans.

With this, attention is focused on how will he elevate his status in both fields with his upcoming performance on March 21.

EXO Baekhyun Achieves Continuous Success After Leaving SM Entertainment

While there were initial concerns after EXO Baekhyun left SM Entertainment, the idol proved his increasing fame and influence by performing various activities as CEO and solo artist of his own label, INB100.

Previously, he successfully held a national tour fan meeting "Snack Party" across Korea including Seoul, Gwangju, and Busan in January and February.

In March, he will then kick off with his first offline solo concert, "Lonsdaleite" at KSPO Dome in Seoul Olympic Park on the 16th and 17th.

This tour will continue in Asia until June, visiting various stops such as Japan, Singapore, Vietnam, the Philippines, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Thailand.
