T-ARA Areum Still Unconscious After Being Rushed to Hospital According to Boyfriend
On March 27, Korean news outlets reported that former T-ARA member Lee Areum was rushed to the hospital after attempting to take her own life.

According to sources, the reason for her attempts was due to the stressful environment and pressure she's currently facing. On the same day (March 27), Areum's current boyfriend shared Areum's condition.
"Thank you to the fans of Areum and everyone acquainted with her, and their efforts in reaching out with concern. Please do not make any unnecessary or strange contact requests and be mindful."
"Please do it in moderation. The person is sick and unconscious. Please refrain from doing so. I pray that she will be fine."

Areum shocked the K-pop community by revealing details of longstanding domestic abuse she had experienced from her ex-husband Kim Young Gul. Apart from the abuse, Areum also became a victim of cellphone hacking.
Areum married her ex-husband in 2019. Outlets reported that Mr. Kim was a businessman and was two years older than the former idol, and eventually, the two had two sons.
In December 2023, Areum announced that a divorce filing was in the process and that she plans to remarry her new partner. However, on the 25th of March 2024, Areum uploaded shocking photos of her scarred face and a mosaic blurring some of her inflicted body parts.
The photos were reportedly taken in November 2021, when Areum left for her parents' house after being physically abused by her ex-husband in front of her child.
"It was taken right after I ran away to my parents' house on the day I was mercilessly beaten by him in front of my child," Areum wrote. "At that time, all the ordinary dresses were torn, there were blood and bruises everywhere that I couldn't see, and my nose was bent."
On March 2, Areum uploaded several graphic photos and audio files recounting how her children also experienced abuse from their father.
Areum discussed in the caption that Mr. Kim had taken out loans without her knowing and that he was also engaged in gambling. The former idol added that Kim didn't have the initiative to offer financial support, while also mentioning that he was violent during their marriage.
Areum then shared that she decided to keep quiet about her own abuse for her children's sake and that she even sent them to her husband for a quicker divorce process. But in a negotiation interview with her children, Areum was shocked to learn that their father had also abused them.
