Rosé and Bruno Mars have achieved a new milestone with their collaboration song "APT.," which went viral in 2024.

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has officially recognized Rosé and Mars' song "APT." by giving the track an official platinum certification. "APT." is the first pre-release track for Rosé's full-length album rosie.

"APT." receiving a platinum certification also means that the song has sold over a million units. The RIAA also described the platinum status as a "benchmark of success for any artist," highlighting the BLACKPINK member's rising global recognition as a solo artist and Mars' reputation as one of the greatest musicians of all time.

Ever since the song's drop on October 18, 2024, it has dominated both domestic and international charts. The song quickly went viral post-debut, spawning dance challenges online from fans and idols.

Rosé and Bruno Mars also won the trophy for Global Sensation Award on the second day of the 2024 MAMA Awards, held at the Kyocera Dome, in Osaka, Japan, on November 22. In their acceptance speech, the two popstars reflected on the spark of inspiration and burst of collaboration that birthed the global hit.

"The song began with a drinking game, and I never expected it to be loved this much," revealed Rosé.

"I'm so thankful for the love that it has received," she said, turning to Mars and proclaiming in English, "Thank you, Bruno, for everything. But really, you're the best."
