Kim Jung Hoon, the older brother of BLACKPINK member Jisoo, recently faced serious allegations of secretly recording sexual encounters without consent.
An anonymous accuser posted on a Korean workplace platform on May 29, claiming Jung Hoon filmed intimate moments using a hidden camera and later showed the footage to acquaintances. The post also claimed he bragged about possessing similar recordings of multiple women.
"It took me a long time to write this. Everything I'm about to share is based on my own experience," the post read.
"One day, I had a sexual relationship with him at his home. I later found out that he had recorded the act using a hidden camera. I couldn't believe it. What made it worse was learning that he had shown the video to his acquaintances and even bragged about having multiple recordings of different women."
Jung Hoon, who serves as CEO of children's health supplement brand Biomom and heads entertainment label Blissoo where Jisoo is signed, firmly denied the allegations. He also spoke of plans to pursue legal action.
"The allegations are completely false. I plan to take legal action and am currently in discussion with a law firm."
Jisoo's agency Blissoo issued a brief response saying they are "currently checking the facts". The original post was quickly deleted after publication but had already spread widely across social media platforms and Korean news outlets.
The timing proves particularly sensitive as Jisoo prepares for BLACKPINK's upcoming projects following her departure from YG Entertainment in 2023. BLACKPINK is set to make their highly anticipated group comeback in June 2025 with a new album, marking their first release since 2022's Born Pink and ending a nearly three-year hiatus during which members pursued solo endeavors like Jennie's Ruby, Lisa's Alter Ego, Rosé's Rosie, and Jisoo's Amortage.
Fans have rallied to defend the singer, emphasizing she bears no responsibility for her brother's alleged actions.
The controversy has sparked intense public debate, with many expressing concern about how the allegations might impact Jisoo's career despite her lack of involvement in the accusations. No formal legal complaints have been filed as of this report.
