Fresh off the release of their debut mini album ACT LIKE THAT, Taiwan's K-pop girl group GENBLUE recently embarked on a promotional tour across Asia, making stops in Hong Kong, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur.

In their first-ever appearance in Malaysia, the six members — AYEON, XXIN, YUAN, LILI, AYAKO and NICO — spent time with the media, visited iconic sights around the capital and immersed themselves in local culture.

Adding the element of surprise is their flash mob at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, where they performed the album's title track ACT LIKE THAT, leaving onlookers and passersby in awe. As they greet the crowd with "Apa khabar? Kita GENBLUE!", their attempt at speaking Malay further endeared them to Malaysia's COOKIE – the group's fan base.

Taking the opportunity to experience Malaysian culture, GENBLUE participated in their first traditional batik painting workshop. Using melted wax on their pens to outline the patterns before colouring, each member added a unique touch to their artwork, earning the guide's praise.

No visit to Malaysia would be complete without a taste of its cuisine. The girls stopped by a local mamak stall to try roti canai for the first time, with the word "sedap" on repeat as they savour the simple yet flavourful dish.

Meanwhile in Thailand, GENBLUE collaborated on dance challenges with several Thai stars, including Pisitpol "Jump" Ekaphongpisit, Patchata "Fiat" Janngeon, girl groups Véra and Blyss, as well as Gen Alpha icon Nina Nutthacha Jessica Padovan.

As an indication of their growing influence and hard work paying off, the group's social media following grew by nearly 20% after embarking on the tour, on top of their K-POP Rookie Award win at the Korea Culture Entertainment Awards last year.

With their already loaded suitcases now added with souvenirs and memories, GENBLUE returned to base in Taiwan for a fan meeting and signing event, marking the tour's final stop.
While the tour has wrapped, there is much more to come from GENBLUE. Fans will be elated to know that there will be new GENBLUE music coming their way, which is expected to release sometime in September 2025.
