K-pop girl group TWICE released a dramatic cinematic trailer on July 22 for their upcoming Japanese studio album ENEMY, giving fans a look ahead of the official August 27 launch.

The nine-member group shared the film-like trailer via their official Japanese social media channels at midnight Korean Standard Time.

The upcoming release marks TWICE's sixth full-length Japanese album and represents their first Japanese studio album in approximately one year, following DIVE, which was released in July 2024. The group announced the August 27 release date through JYP Entertainment, generating significant anticipation among their global fanbase.

The newly released trailer presents a striking contrast between audio and visual elements, creating an emotionally resonant narrative. While the soundtrack features praise for TWICE as a "top global girl group," the accompanying visuals portray the members in quiet, everyday settings rather than glamorous scenes.

The trailer also explores themes of striving for perfection, with underlying tensions and pain conveyed through reflective voice-overs that provide what has been described as one of the most honest glimpses into the group's personal experiences.

The footage shows each member in moments of solitude before a pivotal shift occurs when Jihyo, wearing a faint smile, suddenly runs through the quiet space. Her footsteps echo and capture the attention of the other members, who turn toward the sound. The trailer concludes with Nayeon making direct eye contact with viewers while whispering "I am...," creating an air of mystery about the album's narrative direction.

The Japanese album release comes shortly after TWICE's recent Korean full-length album THIS IS FOR, which launched on July 11, demonstrating the group's continued productivity and global expansion strategy. The timing aligns with their current world tour activities, which began with sold-out performances at the Inspire Arena in Incheon on July 19-20.

The group's world tour schedule includes upcoming shows in Osaka on July 26-27, followed by performances across multiple countries, including Japan, Macau, the Philippines, Singapore, Australia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Thailand through December. All venues will feature innovative 360-degree stage setups designed to create immersive fan experiences.

TWICE's ENEMY release represents another milestone in their Japanese market presence, where they continue building on their established popularity. The cinematic trailer's film-like quality and emotional depth have heightened fan expectations for what story the complete album will reveal when it arrives in August.
