YG Entertainment has officially addressed widespread reports that BLACKPINK will return with new music in December 2025.
On October 14, a spokesperson for the agency told AllKPop simply, "Nothing is confirmed" regarding the group's year-end comeback plans.
The comeback rumors originated on October 16 when several media outlets cited unnamed industry insiders saying that BLACKPINK's full-group album release had been pushed back to mid-December after initial plans for October or November. According to these reports, the group worked on the album while on tour, and final preparations were rescheduled to accommodate the members' busy schedules.
Later the same day, YG Entertainment provided additional clarity on the issue. An agency representative revealed that the project is "in the final stages of album production to ensure its quality," adding, "We will soon share good news through official promotions." This more detailed response suggests that while a release date remains unannounced, work on the album is nearing completion.
BLACKPINK's most recent group release was the digital single "Jump," which debuted in July and marked their first full-group output since their second studio album, Born Pink, in September 2022. "Jump" achieved significant success, breaking streaming records for a K-pop girl group and building anticipation for a full-length follow-up.
The quartet is currently touring on their BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR "DEADLINE," which began in North America and Europe before continuing in Asia. They are slated to resume shows in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, on October 18 and 19, followed by dates in Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Singapore. Fans have speculated that new music may debut during these performances, but YG has not confirmed any such plans.
YG's measured communications reflect the agency's traditional promotional strategy for BLACKPINK, providing controlled updates and emphasizing high production standards over rushed announcements. As a group that commands a global fanbase and regularly tops international charts, BLACKPINK's next release is expected to be a major event in the music industry.
For now, Blink fans must wait for YG Entertainment's official schedule announcement. With album production in its final phase and promotional plans pending, a December return remains possible but is officially "not confirmed" until the agency issues a formal statement.
