BTS member Suga's family has been confirmed to own a luxury building valued at approximately ₩17.3 billion KRW (about $11.8 million USD) in the exclusive Hannam-Dong district of Seoul.
According to court records, the property was purchased by Nageum Co., Ltd. in December 2022. Hanna Geum, Suga's mother, serves as the company's CEO. The building was reportedly bought for ₩10.8 billion KRW (about $7.37 million USD), per FN News.
Following the purchase, the building was demolished, and the company developed plans for a new building in its place. Construction began in 2023 and was finished this year. The new building now features six above-ground levels and two underground levels.
On the first floor, Suga's older brother Min Geum-jae opened a restaurant called "Chompi," which launched in November, according to Sportskeeda. The menu specializes in poke bowls, sandwiches, and coffee.
Located near Hannam District 3, where significant redevelopment is underway, the property's strategic placement suggests forward-thinking investment planning. Industry analysts believe Suga's family executed a calculated move aimed at capitalizing on the anticipated appreciation and revitalization of the Hannam District 3 redevelopment project, a trend common among affluent Seoul residents seeking long-term property value increases.
The Hannam-Dong area, frequently referred to as Seoul's "Beverly Hills," remains home to numerous K-pop idols and entertainment industry figures, including members of BIGBANG and other established celebrities.
The revelation comes months after Suga completed his mandatory military service, having been discharged in June of this year. The idol, who enlisted in September 2023 as a social service agent, became the last of the seven BTS members to fulfill South Korea's compulsory military obligations.
Days after his discharge, Suga made headlines after donating more than $3 million to Severance Hospital in Seoul to establish the Min Yoon-gi Treatment Center, a specialized facility dedicated to treating children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The donation represented the largest single contribution ever made by a Korean celebrity to the hospital.
Currently, Suga is busily preparing alongside his group for a potential comeback anticipated to happen in the spring of 2026.
