K-pop girl group Billlie will make a full-group comeback later this month with the pre-release single "cloud palace ~ false awakening," set for release on January 27 at 6 p.m. KST, agency Mystic Story confirmed.
According to the company, "cloud palace ~ false awakening" will arrive as a digital single and act as a pre-release track for Billlie's next album, marking the start of the group's 2026 activities.
The song is being promoted as a key project in Billlie's expanding story world, with the group aiming to strengthen its image as a "conceptual K-pop icon" through detailed storytelling, performance, and visuals, according to allkpop.
Billlie shared the first teaser content, titled "GRANT OF ADMITTANCE," on their official social channels on January 19. The short video shows a pavilion floating among clouds and a surreal landscape, along with a brief audio clip from the new single.
The teaser also features designs of the group's "Billlie & Lovers" characters, which are tied to their existing lore, alongside new characters that hint at fresh plot lines in the upcoming album.
The single continues the narrative first explored on the 2022 mini album "the collective soul and unconscious: chapter one," which included the fan-favorite track "GingaMingaYo (the strange world)." "cloud palace ~ false awakening" is described as the next chapter in that story and will serve as the pre-release single for "the collective soul and unconscious: chapter two," soompi reported.
The track shares its title with an unreleased song Billlie performed at their fourth-anniversary mini fan meeting "Homecoming Day with Belllie've" in November, after which fans strongly requested an official release.
This comeback is especially notable because it will be Billlie's first full-group return in more than a year, following their October 2024 EP "appendix: Of All We Have Lost," which was promoted with all seven members.
The group consists of Moon Sua, Suhyeon, Haram, Tsuki, Sheon, Siyoon, and Haruna, who are now resuming activities together after previous individual hiatuses for health and personal reasons.
In recent years, Billlie has expanded its international profile through performances in Japan, the United States, the Middle East, and Spain, and appearances on Apple TV+ music program "KPOPPED," where they showcased collaborations with Western artists.
With "cloud palace ~ false awakening," Billlie is expected to open a new phase in their ongoing storyline and set the tone for their next album, with more teasers and detailed comeback schedules to be released in the coming days, as per chosun.
