BTS unleash a dark, dystopian new era in the fierce music video for "Hooligan," the latest visual from their 2026 album ARIRANG.
Released on Apr. 7 local time via HYBE LABELS' official channels, the "Hooligan" video sees RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook ruling over a crumbling world marked by ominous skies, towering structures, and oppressive crowds.
The track, produced by El Guincho, Fakeguido, Jasper Harris, and Ghstloop, appears on ARIRANG, BTS's tenth studio album, which arrived on Mar. 20, 2026, under BIGHIT MUSIC. "Hooligan" has already gained traction on streaming platforms and charts, including a top 40 appearance on the US Billboard Hot 100.
The music video's narrative places BTS at the center of a dystopian power structure, with the members performing atop a striking red platform in front of a palace-like backdrop while masked dancers move in formation around them, according to People.
Later scenes show the group walking through a gloomy passage as civilians float above them, adding a surreal and unsettling layer to the story.
Korean outlet OSEN, citing international coverage, noted that the visual creates a "dreamlike yet destructive" atmosphere that highlights the group's commanding stage presence, Se7en reported.

Lyrically, "Hooligan" matches the intense visuals, with RM rapping, "Watch this, watch this beat goin' hooligan / We pop out, we actin' a fool again," a hook that underscores the song's themes of rebellion and confidence.
Critics have described the track as "glitchy and infectious," praising BTS's ability to adapt to metallic, experimental production while maintaining their pop appeal. Early reviews also point to "Hooligan" as one of the standout songs on ARIRANG for its bold sound and visual ambition.
ARIRANG marks BTS's first full-group comeback in about four years, following the completion of all members' mandatory military service, making each new release from the project highly anticipated among fans.
With "Hooligan," the group expands the visual world of the album after earlier videos like "SWIM" and "2.0," cementing this era as one defined by large-scale, cinematic storytelling and a darker concept.
As the "Hooligan" video continues to rack up views, BTS is expected to carry this powerful imagery into upcoming promotions and their planned global tour through 2027, as per Chosun.
