Review: G-Dragon And Missy Elliott Live Up To The Hype With Their Explosive Collaboration 'Niliria' At KCON 2013 [VIDEO]

Judging by what can be heard over the screaming fans during their electrifying performance at the finale of KCON 2013 last Sunday, 'Niliria,' the new collaboration between Big Bang rapper G-Dragon and iconic rap artist and producer Missy Elliott, is a beast, three minutes of pure dance floor bliss.

Filmed for the Mnet music channel's "M Countdown" as part of the station's 'What's Up LA?" series, the three-minute clip has been making the rounds already online, presumably as word began to spread of this unexpectedly well-paired hip-hop team.

The studio version of "Niliria" won't be released until Monday, when G-Dragon's second solo album "Coup d'Etat" is released, but here are some things we now know about the song based on the duo's performance at KCON 2013.

First of all, the beat on "Niliria" is a winner.

Combining the trademark 16th note hi-hat beat that Elliott is known for with a droned out background from a Korean folk song with the same title is a masterstroke. Missy and G-Dragon produced the track with K-pop producer Teddy and the three clearly took the time to craft something undeniably danceable.

The sound is the perfect springboard for G-Dragon and Miss Misdemeanor herself to do their thing on the mic.

And do their thing they do.

Missy wastes no time getting into it on "Niliria," coming in with her rap right at the top and bringing her trademark fire to the mic. But she also showed a sense of humor with hilariously clever rhymes like "I got hits like a tennis racket," and "my style be fresh like peppermint.

G-Dragon also is in top form, bringing the rhyming acrobatics that he is known for.

Yet some of the strongest moments of "Niliria" came near the beginning and the end of the song. That's when the two stars had the most interplay.

It's impossible to know until the studio version of "Niliria" is released, exactly how much of that interaction was spontaneous and how much is on the recording, but there did appear to something special happening onstage between G-Dragon and Missy.

Could it be a sign that this fantasy collaboration may continue to be a reality?
