It's time to talk about it again, and it's not wishful thinking. Pacquiao Vs Mayweather can actually happen.

After Manny Pacquiao's convincing but short of impressive victory over Brandon Rios, the fight everyone's waiting for suddenly popped back in the radar. Despite his bitter defeats, the interest hardly wavered. It was just placed in the backseat. Besides, boxing insiders understand that walking into a right hook can happen to the best of them.

Even someone on the Mayweather side admits that this is THE fight for both boxers. In a video interview with esnewsreporting.com, Floyd Jr's uncle, Roger was happy about Manny Pacquiao's victory, albeit, for a different reason:

"It's a good thing because now it opens the door for a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight. It brings his name back. He can fight Floyd, because that's the mother-**** he needs to fight. Floyd has too much skill to me. If you want to make real money, that's the mother**** you should fight." (Transcribed by Sportstalk)

Time is running out for both fighters, and there were just too many roadblocks with promotion contract conflicts and other purse shares. However, the undeniable fact remains-the prospect of the biggest purse in history is hard to ignore.

The latest buzz is that even the Showtime Network, with whom Mayweather has an exclusive contract, is reaching out to Bob Arum. Manny Pacquiao is not exclusive to any network (he doesn't have a similar deal with HBO) so Showtime has a chance if they can offer Arum the right price.

Bob Arum doesn't want to add fuel to the fire just yet, considering the burnout that happened during the last negotiations. In his statement to LA Times: "My idea is to go back to the model that was used in the" Mike Tyson-Lennox Lewis "fight, where both networks did it.

"Let's ... everyone be adults and put the ... fight on," Arum said. "Whoever wins in the ring, wins in the ring. But talking about it before we do anything is stupid."

That is the smart way to handle it. The media will talk, but the promoters and networks make it happen. Arum has declared April 2014 as the date for Pacman's next fight, and a Bradley rematch appears plausible. Mayweather has declared a Cinco De Mayo weekend fight date. The opponent is undisclosed.

If they would win as expected, both fighters can have equal preparation time for a fight against each other.
