‘Game Of Thrones’ Snubbed At Golden Globe Nominations 2014 For Second Year In A Row; Peter Dinklage, Season 3 Left Out

Was "Game of Thrones" snubbed at the Golden Globe nominations 2014? For the second year in a row, "Game of Thrones" and its cast did not receive a single nomination for the Golden Globes 2014.

The Golden Globe nominations 2014 snubbed HBO's "Game of Thrones" for the second year in a row, as the Hollywood Foreign Press Association overlooked the enormously-popular TV series, The Huffington Post reports.

Last year, "Game of Thrones" was also snubbed by the 2013 Golden Globes and wasn't nominated in any category.

But in 2012, "Game of Thrones" actor Peter Dinklage, who plays Tyrion Lannister, won a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor in a Series, Miniseries or TV Movie. Peter Dinklage beat Paul Giamatti, Guy Pearce, Tim Robbins, and Eric Stonestreet in that category.

The series also earned a nomination for Best Drama Series at the 2012 Golden Globes.

But this year, Peter Dinklage and season 3 of "Game of Thrones" were snubbed.

This is surprising, considering the shocking season 3, episode 9's "Red Wedding" scene was probably the most talked-about TV event of any series in 2013, Wetpaint reports. "Game of Thrones" also received Emmy noms for Best Drama, Best Supporting Actress (Emilia Clarke), Best Supporting Actor (Peter Dinklage), and Best Guest Actress (Diana Rigg).

But perhaps next year's season 4 will change the minds of Golden Globes voters, as Peter Dinklage previously said about the new season:

"I just finished reading the scripts, and the scripts these guys have turned out are my favorite so far of the whole series," he said, the Christian Post reports.

Entertainment Weekly reports "Game of Thrones" producer David Benioff added: "We got more action, which is obviously more time consuming. It's a brutal shooting season ahead. But if we can make it through, yeah, I think it's going to surpass season three. The last 3 episodes, there's so many scenes we've been waiting for so long to do. And it just gets more and more fun to write for these characters."

According to New York Daily News, "Game of Thrones" wasn't the only big TV series that was overlooked by voters: "Mad Men," "Boardwalk Empire," "The Walking Dead," "Homeland" and "Justified" all received no nominations for the 2014 Golden Globes.

Tune into the 2014 Golden Globes on Jan. 12, 2014.
