NBA 2K14 beat out Madden NFL 25 on next-generation sales, GameSpot.com reports, leaving many wondering if it is the best sports game out for the Playstation 4 and Xbox One.

NBA 2K14 "was the best-selling sports video game on next generation consoles, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and was the number four best-selling next-gen game overall," according to the NPD," the website reports.

In response to the sales numbers, SVP of basketball operations for 2K, Jason Argent, wrote "Earlier this year we promised that NBA 2K14 would be our biggest and best NBA 2K experience yet, and today we're thrilled to see fans agree, as NBA 2K14 is now the number one selling sports game on next-gen consoles," the website also reports.

Earlier this week, it was reported that NBA 2K14's next-generation console version is outselling NBA 2K13.

2K Sports recently announced that it knows what the problems are causing repeated crashes occurring in NBA 2K14's MyCareer mode are, but it has no timetable on when a solution may arrive Kotaku reports, leaving many wondering if next-generation gameplay issues will continue this problem.

"We are aware of what's causing the issue and the top priority is to fix that," the developer announced according to the website.
