Jennifer Lawrence, Boyfriend Nicholas Hoult ‘Are Prisoners’ Of X-Men Movie Contract; 2016’s ‘Apocalypse’ Will Be Last One For Them?

Jennifer Lawrence and her boyfriend Nicholas Hoult reportedly feel like "prisoners" to their "X-Men" movies contract. Will "X-Men: Apocalypse" be the last movie in the franchise that Jennifer Lawrence and her boyfriend Nicholas Hoult will appear in?

According to RadarOnline.com, a source said that Jennifer Lawrence and her boyfriend Nicholas Hoult, who play Mystique and Beast in the "X-Men" movie franchise, "feel they are prisoners of the X-Men movies and the director, Bryan Singer."

Lawrence, 23, and Hoult, 24, signed strict contracts back in 2010 that bind them to future films in the "X-Men" franchise, RadarOnline.com reports.

Bryan Singer's announcement on Twitter that "X-Men: Apocalypse" would be released in May 2016 "caught them by surprise," the source explained.

"But the one note of relief is that they know it will mark the end, since they each signed three-film contracts they signed in 2010," the source added.

This makes it sound as though Lawrence and Hoult are out of the "X-Men" movie franchise once "Apocalypse" is over with.

"Jen knows 20th Century Fox, which produces the movies, is going to throw a lot of money at her to keep her involved in the franchise," the source continued, "but she's ready to move on. They are not fun movies for her to make, and the only thing she likes about them is hanging out with some of those other actors - especially her boyfriend, Nicholas!"

Jennifer and Nicholas met on the set of "X-Men: First Class" in 2011. They split in January, 2013 after dating for two years, due to their busy schedules. But the two stars bonded again in June while filming "X-Men: Days of Future Past" in Montreal, Hollywood Life reports. They have been dating again since this summer.

Meanwhile, there is one person who is definitely excited about the seventh installment in the X-Men series, "X-Men: Apocalypse," and that's Hugh Jackman.

"As excited as [the fans] are, I can tell you it'll exceed those expectations. I feel it's that good. I'm very, very excited about it," Jackman, who plays Wolverine, told E! News.

Jackman added that Singer "has knocked it out of the park."
