[Music Video Review] Son Dam Bi Has Finally Released her New MV with a New Style + Flashback on How She has Matured

Son Dam Bi is back and elegant has she shows a different side to her. I think fans of her will like the new style for her comeback because this truly shows her as more mature which clearly shows in her new music video. But I will really compare and contrast what she has done good and not well for her return. Also, I will do a flashback on her previous music videos.

Elegant Son Dam Bi

Son Dam Bi's new music video "Red Candle" shows a different side by showing what happens when the cameras and paparazzi are gone. Son Dam Bi does a similarity to what J.Y. Park did for his song "Had Enough Parties" by staring at the mirror and explaining that the life of a K-Pop star can be lonely and that she is getting older. Plus, that the stars are not really happy all the time.

Darkness and lighting are both shown in the music video which tells viewers that there is a dark and bright side to being a celebrity. Son Dam Bi has truly brought a different style to her music which is great. The background sound and instrument flows well with her great voice. Plus, while she shows that being beautiful is important once you step out through the door, smiling and being happy is only an image and sometimes we do not see what is exactly going on in the inside. They hide their emotions on camera and then once they close the doors, have a different side to them.

Fans of Son Dam Bi had to wait a year and for her new music video compared to her previous ones, this looks like it is not something to be hyped on. One thing that you should know about Son Dam Bi's song is that she worked with SHINee's Jonghyun to get some help for this song. News media Allkpop explained about Jonghyun and how he thought about the type of music genre for Son Dam Bi.

The style of music chosen is a "bossa nova" because SHINee's Jonghyun wanted to "match" Son Dam Bi's "sexy image" as well as her "unique voice." Jonghyun went beyond to help her by also being the "vocal director." Truly, Son Dam has a lot to be thankful for if her song racks to the top on the major billboards due to SHINee's Jonghyun. So let's see if this song will be number one in the coming weeks and months.

Like explained earlier, fans of Son Dam Bi had to wait a year for her comeback. So let's do a flashback on her previous songs and how she has truly matured.

The Early Years of Son Dam Bi

With her new song currently out, let's take a trip down memory lane and see all of her songs she released in the previous years.

"Dripping Tears", "Queen", and "Saturday Night"

During the year 2012, Son Dam Bi released two songs which were "Dripping Tears" and "Queen." Both had a techno beat to it which all showed the vibrant and beautiful Son Dam Bi at her best. "Saturday Night" was her other hit song in 2009 which was also a dance and techno music genre. While her current song does not have a techno flare to it, the song still shows the elegant and beautiful Son Dam Bi even though the song has a "bossa nova" style to it.

Collaborations

2010, Son Dam Bi collaborated with former After School's member Park Kahi about a "Bad Boy" and on 2008 worked with Eric for the music video "Crazy." Since her debut until 2012, all of Son Dam Bi's music has been a techno style genre. So this "bossa nova" style music is truly different for Son Dam Bi.
