Singer and actress IU is currently commanding the number 1 spot on music charts, and will be ending the year on high notes.

According to Genie Music on December 31st, IU's new song "Friday" is keeping its place at number 1 for the 4th week of December (December 23rd-29th).

"Friday" was released on the 20th, and is the title song for IU's 3rd repackage album. The song features a swing rhythm and addictive melody line, and is about the exciting butterflies in the stomach feeling that comes with love. The song was written and composed by IU herself.

IU truly is one of the most popular female solo singers. Her 3rd album title song "The Red Shoes," released in October," also took the number 1 spot on various music charts. Not only that, she's ending the year on a strong note with her song "Friday."

IU is also starring in KBS 2TV's mini-series "Pretty Man" as the lead female role.

Genie Music indicates SBS mini-series "You Who Came from the Stars" OST by Lyn titled "My Destiny" in 2nd places. In 3rd is Brown Eyed Soul's "You" and 4th is VIBE's "Heaven." In 5th place is the song "Winter Propose," sung by Sung Shi Kyung, Seo In Guk, Park Hyo Shin, and other Jelly Fish agency singers.
