Men's Hockey 2014 Winter Olympics Tournament Revealed - Sweden, USA, Canada, Finland Receive Bye, First Round Begins Tuesday

Men's hockey 2014 Winter Olympics tournament revealed now that preliminary games have completed.

Sweden received a bye and the top seed by going 3-0 in their group-play games. USA went 3-0, but had one less point than Sweden because the Americans received two points for winning in a shootout rather than in regulation for three points. Canada needed overtime to get by Finland to get the third seed, while Finland received the fourth and final bye for having the most points that didn't finish first in either of the three groups.

This means that the other eight remaining teams will play each other on Tuesday for the right to advance to the quarterfinals.

Russia (5) will play Norway (12), while Switzerland (6) will play Latvia (11). The Czech Republic (8) will battle on the ice against Slovakia (10) and Slovenia (8) vs Austria (9) for the final matchup. It will all matchups that did not take place in the preliminary rounds.

The winner of the 5-12 will play Finland, while the winner of the 6-11 will play Canada. The winner of the 7-10 will play USA and the winner of the 8-9 will play Sweden.

The quarterfinal games will take place on Wednesday.
