NBA Draft 2014: Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker Still The Top Prospects! Who Will Win In Head-to-Head Matchup?

The NBA Draft in 2014 will be one of the most loaded ever. At the top of most draft boards, a duel between the best of the new breed of players emerges: Andrew Wiggins vs Jabari Parker.

While both players are similar in size, they have different skill sets. However, no one would argue that they are both awesome, and more than a dozen teams in the NBA are staking their future on acquiring one of these players.

The SI.com Big Board placed Andrew Wiggins of Kansas at No. 1: "Wiggins entered the season in a no-win situation. The hype was so great that unless he submitted one of the most dynamic college seasons ever, his draft stock was going to slip. Wiggins hasn't done that -- he has battled bouts of inconsistency and an erratic jumper -- but he has not been bad, either. His jump shot has looked sharp lately (he has converted better than 54 percent in three of his last four games, including 3-of-5 on three-pointers in a win over Texas last week) and looks strong attacking the basket. There's a smooth, Tracy McGrady-like style to Wiggins' game. That is going to be tough to pass up."

SI.com ranks Jabari Parker at no. 2: "Parker's three-point shooting has been surprising; he is connecting on 37 percent, including a 3-for-3 performance in Duke's win over Syracuse last week. League executives view Parker as the most NBA-ready player in the draft, though concerns about his defense still linger."

About.com has also made observations. The knack (weakness) for Wiggins: "The biggest weakness scouts mention when talking about Wiggins is his mentality. He seems to lack a killer instinct and at times his passion for the game comes into question."

While they mention that Parker's flaw is not really a flaw, he just pales in comparison: "Even though he's freakishly talented in his own right, Parker was not blessed with the God-given size or natural talent Wiggins possesses. He's not quite as fast and he can't jump quite as high."

They can become the Michael Jordan-Scottie Pippen combo of the new decade. Wiggins is the superior athlete and is built to score while Parker has an all-around brilliance that will only shine more with Coach K's tutelage. Unfortunately, they probably will not be teammates at all. Even in international competition, Wiggins is from Canada and Parker is American.
