Lizard Head Found In Salad From Guy & Gallard After Frog In Pret A Manger In December [PHOTO]: NYC Wildlife Booms In Your Food

If you're looking for protein in NYC, you should try Guy & Gallard and Pret A Manger, especially if a lizard head or frog sound appetizing to you.

On Tuesday, Robin Sandusky discovered the head and arm of a lizard inside her kale salad from a restaurant called Guy & Gallard. She had already eaten a quarter of it when she saw the remains.

“I turned it over and the gore was hanging out the back of the neck,” said Sandusky to ABC News. “I said, ‘Oh man. I have a lizard in my salad.’”

“The reaction to it has been a lot more insane than the actual event. The New York Post was stalking outside my apartment waiting for me with a picture of my boyfriend and I on her phone.”

Even so, the photo is more than enough to make the story go viral.

Earlier in December, a frog was discovered in a salad from the chain Pret A Manger in Manhattan.

“We don’t use any pesticides with our greens and they go through multiple washing cycles,” said Pret A Manger vice president to Fox News. “An unfortunate piece of organic matter has made its way through."

As far as the lizard head is concerned, Guy & Gallard has yet to take full responsibility, although they did throw out the remaining lettuce out of caution.

“We keep our kitchens to the highest standards,” said one of the managing partners at Guy & Gallard, Jason Jefferies. “Pretty much we’re shocked at the possibility this could happen.”
