The Iowa State Cyclones are going to have a tough matchup vs the North Carolina Tarheels in part because of the loss of one of their most "important" players, according to their head coach. Georges Niang broke his right foot during Iowa State's last game. He will be out for the remainder of the tournament. "Somebody will step up. They always do in situations like this," ISU head coach Fred Hoiberg told ESPN.com.

Tar Heels coach Roy Williams cautioned Saturday that size becomes a liability when Iowa State spreads the court. He said he hates that Niang can't play, according to ESPN.com.

"Coach (Dean) Smith used to say he hated to play somebody when they just lost one of their front line players because everybody banded together even more and were more motivated and all that kind of thing," Williams said. "So hate it for that reason, too."

UNC squeaked by Providence on Friday by two points thanks to free throws. The Tar heels were down eight points with only a few minutes left before they made one last run.

'We feel very fortunate, to say the least,'' Williams told NCAA.com.

McAdoo finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds and Brice Johnson also scored 16 for the Tar Heels. It was the free throw to take the lead with seconds left by McAdoo to advance UNC to the next round.

''I knew I just had to go up there and focus on the rim and just continue to do the routine I've been doing all year,'' McAdoo said of his winning foul shots.
