The Wolf Of Wall Street Star Leonardo DiCaprio New Movies: ‘The Ballad Of Richard Jewell’ & ‘Steve Jobs’ Could End The Oscar Drought!

The Wolf Of Wall Street star Leonardo DiCaprio is set to make two new movies following the success of TWWS. This time he is tapped to play a role in Vanity Fair's The Ballad of Richard Jewell and as Steve Jobs in Sony's biopic for the well-loved Apple CEO.

The question now is, will any of these new films help Leo finally end the draught for an Oscar award?

Leonardo DiCaprio is reportedly going to work in a new movie with Sony about Steve Jobs. According to THR, the "The Wolf of Wall Street" star is being eyed to play the iconic tycoon who passed away in 2011.

The 39-year-old Hollywood superstar is also said to be reuniting with his "The Beach" director, Danny Boyle, who's now in talks with the studio to helm the film after the controversial removal of "The Social Network" director David Fincher.

Fincher was previously reported to be helming the film, but that deal allegedly fell apart after Fincher demanded $10 million upfront and control over how the movie would be marketed.

On the other hand, Boyle is an award-winning director who won an Oscar for his direction of "Slumdog Millionaire," and the movie also received Best Picture honors.

Pedigree screenwriter Aaron Sorkin, who talked with Business Insider's Jon Favreau during the Tribeca Film Festival, pens Steve Jobs movie.

Although he remained light-lipped about the upcoming film, Sorkin did manage to give out a hint about what audiences could expect.

"it's not a biopic," he revealed.

"It's not the story of Steve Jobs - it's something much different than that," Sorkin added.

"He's a fascinating guy - part hero, part antihero," Sorkin says of the former Apple CEO. "I don't want to say that much tonight. I don't want to make any news or make anyone feel like I approached the movie in a different way. I'm going to make the movie speak for itself. But he's a fascinating guy surrounded by fascinating people, and he had very interesting relationships with the people in his life."

In other news, Leonardo DiCaprio is also set out to work in a new movie, this time teaming up once more with his "The Wolf Of Wall Street" co-star Jonah Hill in Vanity Fair's movie adaptation of "The Ballad of Richard Jewell."

However, DiCaprio will play a supporting role in this film whereas Hill will be playing the titular role of Richard Jewell and his story about the Atlanta Olympics bombing.
