Psy's 'Gangnam Style' On The Verge Of Hitting 2 Billion Views On YouTube

The amount of international attention that South Korean singer Psy has been receiving for his hit song "Gangnam Style" is beyond incredible.

What's more shocking is that the fame of "Gangnam Style" continues to this day, as the music video for the song has reached around 1,999,128,700 views on May 30.

The song, which was released on YouTube on July 15, 2012, has reached almost 2 billion views in just a year and 11 months. The singer, also known as Park Jae Sang, has about 900,000 more views left in order to reach the 2 billion-view mark.

Despite not reaching 2 billion just yet, "Gangnam Style" currently has the most views on YouTube.

"Gangnam Style" even caught the attention of the President of the United Sates. When President Barack Obama was elected to his second term, he told a New Hampshire radio station, "I just saw that video for the first time, and I think I can do that move," according to Rolling Stone.

4 months after its debut, the hit song beat Justin Bieber's "Baby" as the most watched video on YouTube and by Christmas 2012 it became the first video to be watched over 1 billion times.

After making a mark on the world with "Gangnam Style," Psy released his follow-up single "Gentleman M/V," which currently has an impressive 687 million views on YouTube.

The ABC production team revealed that Psy would be making an appearance on the late-night talk show "Jimmy Kimmel Live: Game Night" edition to celebrate the NBA finals that starts June 5, according to MSN Entertainment XIN.

Psy will be joined by Snoop Dogg, who was spotted at the singer's video shoot back in January, along with Big Bang's G-Dragon and CL of 2NE1.

Industry insiders have reportedly noted that there is a high possibility that Psy will promote his new single on the upcoming episode of "Jimmy Kimmel."
