The fight we've all been waiting for, Pacquiao vs. Mayweather, will not happen this year. Floyd Mayweather Jr. has scheduled a fight in September and Manny Pacquiao will do the same in November.

Money May does not have an opponent yet for his fight that is scheduled less than three months away on September 13. The privilege would have gone to Amir Khan, but since he's a Muslim, he would not be able to bulk up since it is within Ramadan.

Amir Khan told Skysports: "The fight between me and Floyd Mayweather is going to happen one day. As long as I keep winning and putting on great performances, it is definitely going to happen. But I cannot do September because of Ramadan. The next time that it could happen is in May. I can fight then so it could be Floyd's next fight after September."

He actually wants both fighters: "They are the big names and that is where I belong fighting the top guys. There are talks about Manny Pacquiao happening in the future - may be next. So I have left my team, Al Hayman and my team Khan Promotions to do everything."

He is still in the running for Manny Pacquiao's scheduled fight on November 27. The Pacquiao camp was calling out for a fifth fight with Juan Manuel Marquez, but the Mexican fighter appeared to be dodging him.

The Filipino fighter is now stuck with choosing among up and coming talents who see a fight with him as the next big step. Mayweather continues to maintain his stance that he will not negotiate with Pacquiao as long as he is with Top Rank promotions.

For Mayweather's  September fight, he may have to settle for Miguel Cotto. The Puerto Rican fighter wants to avenge his loss against Mayweather in 2012. He recently defeated Sergio Martinez in an impressive fight that had Floyd's uncle, Roger Mayweather commenting that Cotto "is now a better fighter than Pacquiao."
