Indiana Pacers guard/forward Paul George suffered a severe leg injury in a Team USA scrimmage Friday night. He pursued James Harden in transition defense, then landed awkwardly against the stanchion, at which point a replay from ESPN clearly showed his leg fracturing. The Indianapolis Star reports that George suffered a compound fracture of his right leg. George was taken off the court in a stretcher to a standing ovation. After the injury, Coach Mike Krzyzewski led the players to mid-court and informed the crowd they were calling off the remainder of the scrimmage. ESPN reports that George was taken to the Hospital for Special Surgery in Las Vegas. ESPN also reported that the stanchion against which George suffered the injury was closer than the NBA-regulated space.

Published on Aug 5, 2012 Jamaican Usain Bolt sets a new Olympic record as he retains his 100m Gold medal at the London 2012 Olympics on the 5 August 2012. Since 1896, athletics has been on the programme of each edition of the Games of the Olympiad. Its presence on the Games programme has allowed its popularity to increase across the world. This popularity was also strengthened by the creation of the IAAF in 1912. Women's events appeared for the first time at the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam, while the men's programme was standardised as of the 1932 Games in Los Angeles. Although at the beginning women were authorised to participate in only some events, today their programme is almost identical to that of the men.

  • Emma Roberts Cries at Comic Con Event

Is there trouble in paradise for Emma Roberts and her fiancé Evan Peters? Something must have gone down to upset the actress while she was with her significant other at a San Diego Comic-Con cocktail party this weekend (via Perez Hilton). Multiple videos have leaked of Emma sitting beside large glass windows at the Omni Hotel looking a little worse for wear. The clips show her crying and speaking emotionally to Evan while a blonde woman in a white coat stands in front of Emma trying to calm her down and hide her from the prying cameras. At times Emma seems to be angry towards Evan, while at other moments she’s seen weeping into his shoulder. This wouldn’t be the first time the couple has had issues in their relationship. Last summer Emma was arrested in Canada following a domestic violence incident. Police were called to the pair’s hotel room, where they found Evan with a bloody nose and a bite mark. She was later released without charges. Whatever the cause of her most recent troubles, we hope she overcomes them soon. It’s shocking to see the brunette sobbing in public with so many cameras on her. Chin up, Emma!
