ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin Puts HYBE Founder Bang Si Hyuk On Blast

On April 25, 2024, ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin held an emergency press conference following her public feud with HYBE. Up until now, the press conference has continued to be a hot topic online.

During the press conference, Min Hee Din denied allegations of trying to take full control of ADOR. Instead, she revealed she was instructed not to debut or promote NewJeans until LE SSERAFIM made their debut.

HYBE operates under a multi-label system, with NewJeans under ADOR and LE SSERAFIM under Source Music. Min Hee Jin accused HYBE of copying NewJeans's "fornula" for ILLIT's debut. ILLIT is signed under BELIFT Lab.

Min Hee Jin claimed that HYBE initially planned to debut NewJeans as "HYBE's first girl group" alongside her, using this as leverage to persuade the parents of NewJeans' members to recruit them. However, HYBE later debuted LE SSERAFIM ahead of NewJeans and prevented Min Hee Jin from promoting NewJeans.

She stated, "Bang Si-hyuk, the chairman of HYBE, didn't even congratulate NewJeans when they debuted." She also publicly disclosed KakaoTalk conversation screenshots, including one where Bang sent a message saying, "Are you enjoying this?" when NewJeans made their first appearance on the Billboard Hot 100 main single chart.

After the press conference, attention was drawn to Bang Si Hyuk's Instagram feed. Netizens were quick to point out that Bang SI Hyuk, who affectionately takes pictures with artists under HYBE labels, did not post pictures with NewJeans.

As of writing, Bang Si Hyuk's Instagram account features photos with members of TXT, LE SSERAFIM, ENHYPEN, BTS, SEVENTEEN, fromis_9, &TEAM, KATSEYE, and Zico.

Photos of NewJeans BOYNEXTDOOR, who debuted in May last year, did not appear on Bang Si Hyuk's Instagram account.

This caused mixed reactions. Some people believe that Bang Si Hyuk has favoritism and that he made it extremely obvious. This also made HYBE Labels' statement of wanting to protect NewJeans appear insincere, as their founder doesn't even have photos with one of their most successful groups.

However, others noted that BOYNEXTDOOR also doesn't have a photo with Bang Si Hyuk, which means people could be blowing things out of proportion.
